Welcome to 2009. I will have a new episode of The Voice-Over Journey podcast (aka netcast, online radio program) out very soon. In the meantime, some big news:

I am launching http://MediaVoiceOvers.com as the new main portal for all of my podcasts, voice-overs, and blog. The iTunes feed for the Voice-Over Journey podcast will remain the same, for at least six months. Please stay subscribed. I’ll make sure to keep you up to date so you don’t miss an episode. Thanks again for “Tuning In…”!

Happy New Year!

Sad that LOST is ending its season this week. So, my Wayne’s Take on LOST podcast won’t have too much going on, at least until their big annual ComicCon announcements. However, have you seen the previews on Fox about the upcoming show called Fringe? It’s from the producers of LOST, and looks like an X-Files kind-of show. I’m proud to announce that I now have the first ever podcast about Fringe, Wayne’s Take on Fringe, at http://fringe.libsyn.com/. If you already have thoughts and theories my fellow voice actors, feel free to share them at the Fringe/Lost/TIWWH listener line at 206-984-1446.

Thanks. See ya on the fringe,

Wayne

In case you get a new iPhone, iTouch, iPod, or Zune for Christmas and want to find some good podcasts to load it up with, but you don’t know where to start; I want to share with you some of the great podcasts (or as Leo Laporte calls them, Netcasts) that I am listening to lately:

Cliff Ravenscraft’s Generally Speaking podcasts (related to LOST, Mac computers, etc) through  http://gspn.tv/

The MacCast is a nicely put together “enhanced” podcast at  http://www.maccast.com/

Victor does the podcast community proud with his Typical Mac User podcast at  http://typicalmacuser.com/

Career Opportunities is put out a few times a week by Douglas E Welch at  http://welchwrite.com/

Every current or future owner of a Hi-Def TV needs to hear the HDTV podcast at http://www.htguys.com/

Do you have kids getting ready for college?  Check out the Financial Aid Podcast  http://www.financialaidpodcast.com/

Here is a nice “American” web design podcast:  The Rookie Designer at http://www.rookiedesigner.com/

And here’s a brilliant “British” web design podcast by Paul Boag at  http://www.boagworld.com/podcast/

The podcast “King”, Leo Laporte, has a lot of fabulous podcasts at his network at http://twit.tv/

For the Windows computer user, Wayne Price offers an informative podcast  http://www.pricecomputersupport.info/blog/

There are many more to consider.  But these should get you started.  Enjoy.

Merry Christmas!

A parent did not enjoy hearing Christmas music while on hold, and was so offended that he/she called the district office to complain and insist that we stop playing the Christmas music. It still amazes me that some people get offended at hearing that they have hope of everlasting life in Heaven, through God’s son Jesus Christ! Just doesn’t seem like the type of thing that one wouldn’t want to hear about. Well, there’s a little less Christmas cheer in Yucaipa, California this year.

With that being said, I personally wish you a Merry Christmas!

As a voice-actor, ballroom dancing was something totally foreign to me until about two years ago, when my wife finally convinced me to go to Arthur Murray’s dance studio in Redlands.  The fact that we were hooked on watching the Dancing With The Stars show on television helped seal the deal.  We have been having a lot of fun learning and practicing the Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, and Rumba.  This past weekend my wife and I were able to do all of these dances on one of the largest dance floors that I have ever seen, at the Arthur Murray Christmas Ball, which was held at the Hyatt hotel’s ballroom in Irvine California!  Arthur Murray studios from all over Southern California participated in this event.  What a blast it is to get all dressed up, go to the ball, dance around the dance floor in the grand ballroom, eat good food, all to the sound of a great live band playing Christmas music!!

Where the voice-over part of me comes in, is that I have been podcasting about Dancing With The Stars, as well as the tv show LOST and the Green Bay Packers, for over two years now.  And now I can talk more about the Christmas Ball on the next episode of my Tuning In With Wayne Henderson podcast (available in iTunes and at www.whpodcast.com).

Yes, Garth Brooks is doing a special fundraiser concert for California fire victims and firefighters and sold all tickets for $38.50 (with ALL profits going to the charities).  As usual, however, ticket scalpers and greed are ruining the concert industry.  Wow, the show sold out in three minutes?  Wow, almost every ticket seems to now be for sale on eBay, and with other scalpers, for hundreds of dollars (or more).  I can assure you that almost none of the sellers are forwarding all of their profits (made from ripping off the Garth Brooks fans) will be going to the charities, just into these scalpers’ pockets.  How can we stop this?  I think Garth should cancel, and reschedule just to cause hassle to the scalpers.
